Master mould is completed

Plaster bandages are the best for moulding the body.  Although messy, they are wilty. This wilty nature of wet plaster bandages capture the unique features of an individual foot. It would be natural to try to preserve the orginal bandage mould.  However, after de-moulding the foot model, the plaster bandage mould is not ridged enough to with stand the continuous casting necessary to learn physiological last making. Thus the students are directed to duplicate the master foot model in a master mould making process.   This mould is now ready to utilize for last making clay. A medium hard enough to carve and shave but soft enough to add and subtract with.  From this point forward students can cast as many foot models as desired to gain technical experience.

Later they will be shown alternitive and speedy methods for thier own shop and studio of making  moulds  of the foot model.
